Torch Lake used to advertise itself as one of the three most beautiful lakes in the world. It may not be one of the three most beautiful lakes in northeastern Michigan. Going south from Empire, M-22 has more Sleeping Bear sand dunes on the west and several beautiful lakes on the east.
